Her name is Sadana, some kind of Banjara inspired elf.  Blogger is doing something to my images, this has gone slightly over exposed.

Thursday 16 October 2014

The Rajput Pyromancer.  An older one I thought I would try and salvage.

Wednesday 15 October 2014

2 minute gestures and a 30 minute from life drawing tonight.

Saturday 4 October 2014

Kang Admi "Snow Man"

Going to call time on this one, but maybe come back to it another time, or just try other variations on this idea.  An older one on my hard drive that I tried to add a bit more to.

Sunday 28 September 2014

Oh why does my camera turn those warm oranges into slight yellows, with some grey noise over the whole picture, I will need to invest in a better camera at some point.  This being under a warmer light too, to get it close to real life as possible, which helped only slightly.

Saturday 27 September 2014

The Desert Merchant, Jameel.  Do not attempt to steal from him, he makes a very fine swordsman.

Digital Paint.  Wasn't sure when to end this, as I was wary of pushing the rendering too much to point where it might become stale, maybe come back to it later if something jumps out, but for now I'm calling it done.

Wednesday 17 September 2014

Female life drawings from last week one around 7 minutes and the other a 30 minute or so, possibly just over.  Male life drawings from tonight 2 minute gestures and a 15 and 30 minute.

Wednesday 2 July 2014

One from life drawing, top one was under 10 minutes I believe, between 5-10.  Bottom one I think was about 30.

Wednesday 25 June 2014

Female drawings from last week life drawing (5x5mins, 1x15 mins I think it was and a 30 - 40 min), male from this week, 5x5mins, 2x10mins and a 30 - 40 min.

Wednesday 14 May 2014

Haven't posted in a while, here is a life drawing from this evening, over 30 minutes I believe, 30- 40 minutes, possibly a bit over 40, not exactly sure on the time.  Would really like to work up a pose over a few hours, but classes are 2 hours with a break in between.

Friday 4 April 2014

Tried to capture the light just as the sun was about to drop out, very interesting colours happening, had to act quickly but it was all continuously changing in front of me as tried to capture it.  When I started the window frames were a cool dim bluish purple, I had to stop as I noticed the window frames becoming silhouetted against the light indoors.

Tuesday 25 March 2014

Not sure whether to take these through one more round, but I feel like I'm spent with these for now.

Wednesday 5 March 2014

Diaper fold study (from photo), hard to know when to stop, could have kept going really, but time to move onto the next.

Wednesday 29 January 2014

Lifedrawing, 5x5 minutes, 6x2 minutes and an untimed one where the model walks around the room, and does whatever, dance, anything.
Bought an Asaro head, it comes with a booklet, which has very useful information, and I bought a Bella Donna catalogue with it, a series of paintings by John Asaro on the female form, fantastic work.

This study was tough, I found it tougher than my skull studies, as the planes are much more pronounced, there's no getting away with anything, as each plane shows a different value, the drawing can become difficult to control, you adjust the value of one plane, then you may have to adjust another then another and so on, really testing, to the point where I had to just stop.  Though at the same time, I went about it to just blur my eyes and just think of it as an overall form, as I would usually with other studies, which helped, but at the same time I am working those planes.    The next studies I may keep the lines looser, and see how that goes.  I think the neck might be a bit long as well, so I will have to keep that in mind for the next study, and I may try softening the forms as explained in the booklet, which just looks really cool, but could be difficult to know what to and how to soften certain areas.

Tuesday 28 January 2014

Some Reilly Abstraction I been doing, with gestures underneath from "onairvideo" YouTube channel. 5x 1 Minute and then a 2 minute on the end, right side.

Tuesday 21 January 2014

Another one from Strength Training Anatomy by Frederic Delavier.  I will continue on with this one.

Monday 20 January 2014

This is more it's colour taken at daylight.  Thought I should take a picture at daylight, it's not completely straight on, so little bit cropped from top and bit of sides, didn't get the angle properly straight on, but that's something to care about when its done.  I looked into buying a daylight LED lamp, so will see how that is when painting in the evenings, I've realised the slight yellow light in my room can interfere with the colour mixing a bit, and you can see the difference from my previous posts.

Saturday 18 January 2014

Think something up with my camera or I need a pro one with a tripod or something, need to keep my hand extremely still when taking these, still a bit blurry though.

Friday 17 January 2014

Picture is a bit blurry, was in a bit of a rush when taking.

Thursday 16 January 2014

Started the painting.  Painting it bigger than the charcoal drawing, so it was challenging trying to scale it up and keep it in proportion compositionally , but kept fighting with it and it's starting to take shape now I think.  I don't mind not keeping to the charcoal drawing 100%.

Wednesday 15 January 2014

Not sure if I want to work it up some more, may just move onto the painting.

Tuesday 14 January 2014

Bit overdue, decided to fill out the sheet a bit more a little last minute, got to be more strict to the midnight deadlines again.  Got a bit relax.  These are studies from Frederic Delavier's wonderful book, Strength Training Anatomy.

Monday 13 January 2014

Thought I should finish that skull page, and some Bridgman study I did prior.

Sunday 12 January 2014

Bit more work, must make sure I soften the shading on that arm.
